Holly offers a unique experience while learning about horses. Unlike traditional riding lessons, she will share with you the secret to understanding horses and their behavior. No matter how long you have ridden or how much experience you may already have with horses, all students start out learning groundwork. Depending on your prior experience with horses, this may last up to 10 lessons. Fully understanding how you relate to the horse from the ground is important to how you will communicate while in the saddle. Having a strong foundation in groundwork helps any rider become a true Horseman.
If you feel that it is only groundwork you need or want to learn more about, Holly also offers lessons structured around this subject separately. She also has extensive knowledge with starting young horses and can customize your lesson package to accommodate this, along with any other needs you may have.
Once you are ready to begin your studies, you will be assessed so that Holly fully understands your goals for the program. You will be asked about your past experience with horses as well as your future goals. It is important that your program is built around your needs and that your goal be accomplished, no matter how big or small.
Holly can also customize your program around any hesitations or fears you may have regarding horses. As adults, it is common to see people who have had traumatic experiences in their past or have been injured or hurt by horses before. Although Holly is not a licensed therapist or counselor, she has proven to be successful at helping people connect with horses in a way that fosters a positive relationship. Helping you overcome any past fears or notions about horses and further understanding their behavior is a large part of the mission of Growing Green Farms.

For packages tailored to problem horses, subjects are assessed on a case by case basis. Depending on the severity of the situation it may not be possible for Holly to assist you. Some cases are so severe, it may in the best interest of the horse to seek additional help. However, for most mild cases of "bad behavior" Holly can provide training that will prove beneficial to you and your horse.
